When I was leaving the corporate world to live my entrepreneurial dream, there were so many people that said, "you know...the grass is not always greener on the other side" I thought, what are they talking about, my grass is just as green as it is on the other side. I am leaving to live my dream of a successful business doing what I love and helping others. What they saw? They saw their grass and assumed I had the same lawn.
I have a secret, for almost a little over a year my husband and I were discussing me leaving and I said to him, before I go anywhere, I have to make sure I am right with all the energies that I work with. You see, no matter where you go, what you do, you will run into the same energies all the time. So if you do the work, forgiveness, understanding, not taking it personal and a lot of self reflection, you can move on...successfully.
Since I have left, I have met many of the energies I worked with and almost right away, I see them for what they are. I see them as the exact people I worked with for 17 years. The energy is the same, the costume is different.
Have you ever just did not like someone that you just met maybe because they reminded you of someone you did not like? Yes! Same energy, different costume.
The work is not easy, redirecting thoughts and old behaviors is not always easy, but it is worth it. I did it and it took about a year. You have to remember, this was very important to me that this was done and if you think this is something that will happen over night, think again.
Even if you leave the job or are asked to leave, you have to make it right. For yourself.
So when I announced I was leaving and so many remarked "the grass is not always greener on the other side, are you sure you know what you are doing?" I came back with "your right...my grass here is just as green and yes I do."
I got no words. Because the truth was, I got okay within myself! All of the energies that I worked with for 17 years, all that work was for me, not them, they had no idea what I was doing. It was all about me, so that when I did move on, I moved on with my head high and no cords attached.
Try it out. Take one person you work with and see how many more people you know like that person. Then work on understanding who they are, has nothing to do with you. Think about why and how they act or react gets your feelings rolling. Whatever the feelings may be, happy, sad, frustrated, etc. Why does it effect you?
Next, acknowledge what it is about them that makes them act this way. Listen to them speak, listen to how they speak about themselves, watch how they walk and interact. Then look deep inside of you to find out why it matters so much to you what they do.
Finally, ask yourself, why did I pick that person first?
Too much work, time, effort? My answer to you will be, "The grass will never be greener on the other side"
Easy and you got this? I say to you "Your grass is just as green."
No matter where you go, what you do, who you meet, you will always find the same energy and you will definitely always find the energy that you keep running from!!
So ask yourself, is the grass really greener on the other side or is my grass green enough, it's my time to move on.
Namaste my friends.
